Ramen! Finally, we’re getting more ramen choices in Baltimore. Ejji Ramen will soon open in Belvedere Square Market at the Ikan Sushi’s former spot and they’ll serve traditional Japanese-style ramen with a Malaysian spin.
With the chilly weather on its way, Ejji (pronounced e-gee) could not come at a better time and they will have bar seating starting October 26. Ejji is Asian comfort food with an edge. According to restaurant co-owner Oscar Lee, “We will offer a choice of traditional or vegetable noodles for those looking for a gluten-free and/or carb-free option. And, our noodles come from one of the top noodle suppliers in the world.”
Ejji’s home-cooked dishes will use fresh and high quality ingredients and be sourced as locally as possible. Various toppings will be available to customize the ramen bowls, including a family recipe for Malaysian Sambal sauce, and a choice of more than 10 toppings, including menma (bamboo shoots), egg, char siu and pork belly. For hungry appetites, “Sumo Style” will offer a fully loaded ramen experience, which includes every topping they offer.
With 40 years in the Baltimore restaurant scene, the Vong-Lee family, which also owns Chocolatea Café in Tuscany-Canterbury, is excited to introduce ramen with a twist. Dishes will be priced affordably starting at $9. Table seating is expected to open in early November with take-out ability to follow shortly thereafter.
Ejji will follow Belvedere Square Market’s hours of operation which are:
Monday – Thursday 10am – 8pm,
Friday – Saturday 10am – 10pm
Sunday 10am – 5pm.
